Airbus beats Boeing

Airbus sold fewer planes than Boeing in September, but retained a huge advantage over the competitor in the year.

Boeing, in turn, sold 530 aircraft between January and September, Sales include 46 new orders in September.

The Airbus was highlighted this year with a renewed version of the A320, with only one corridor, which will offer fuel economy.

Analysts, however, say that Boeing should return to the lead in the race for orders after accepting a reform  to the top-selling 737.

On Thursday, Airbus said it does not expect any impact of the debt crisis in Europe on orders and reiterated its forecast of 3.5 trillion dollars worth of aircraft orders over the next 20 years
